It is further used in the treatment of angina which is a condition in which a patient experiences severe chest pain due to stress. The condition is heightened by a low flow of blood especially through the blood vessel situated in the heart. The medication increases the chances of survival after a person has experienced a heart attack. It is important to understand that Metropolol operates in the body by causing relaxation of the blood vessels as well as lowering the heart rate in order to improve the flow of blood. The medication can be used in the prevention of a migraine from starting or when it attacks. A migraine is defined as a recurrent and throbbing form of a headache that attacks only one side of the head which is usually accompanied by nausea as well as disturbed vision.
